Data Center

Highly secured location complying with various standards (access control, fire systems, cooling systems, short circuit protection, etc.) where critical IT equipments are stored (hardware, applications, network)

Data compression

Use of a certain number of rules and techniques (algorithm) in order to reduce data storage space.

Data recovery

Restoring lost data (error, virus, etc.).

Data replication

Data duplication and synchronization process in different remote Data Centers in order to improve fault tolerance and reduce data loss risks.

Dedicated Server

Internet Server made available for one client only.

DMZ

Demilitarized zone - Sub-network isolated by a firewall and located between the local network and the Internet. It enables access to non-critical information but remains protected by a firewall under different rules than the ones used for the internal network.

DNS

Domain Name System - System connecting domain names to their IP address.
